Pretoria – Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns striker, Katlego Mphela has been involved in a car accident Tuesday afternoon, escaping with minor injuries.
Soccer Laduma’s website reports that the accident took place outside Marabastad.
Exact details of the accident are unknown, but it is believed that Mphela’s C63 Mercedes-Benz collided with a delivery vehicle at around 15:30 and has been declared a write-off.
“He didn’t look shocked at all when he came out of his Mercedes Benz,” a Soccer Laduma source revealed.
Mphela was taken to hospital, but sustained no major injuries as a result of the collision.
“Yes, I was involved in a car accident, but I’m alright. I can’t talk much now,” the Bafana star confirmed.
Mphela will hope to recover in time for Sundowns’ PSL opener away to Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.
