Man crashed by truck when trying to retrieve hat from road
A man has tragically died in a pedestrian crash on the N2 North near the Doonside off ramp this afternoon at around 14h30. A report from bystanders indicate that he man ran across the road when heavy wind blew his hat back into the roadway, without hesitation he ran to get the hat and landed in front of a vehicle traveling toward Durban.
Netcare 911 and the provincial paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying in a lateral position in the fast lane. Tragically, he had died before our arrival due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.
