Earlier this morning EMER-G-MED’s RV7, A06, A07 and A08 as well as other services responded to reports of a serious collision on the corners of Weirda & Willem Botha, in Centurion.
On arrival paramedics found that a car and two taxis had been involved in the collision, leaving a total of 19 patients with minor to moderate injuries.
It is alleged that the car had come to a stop in traffic and was rear-ended by one taxi. The other taxi, which didn’t leave a safe following distance, then drove into the accident scene lost control and collided with a tree.
Paramedics treated the patients on-scene, before they were transported by EMER-G-MED and other services to various nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities are onscene to investigate.
