Faulty traffic light blamed for serious collision in Sharon Lea
Just after 5pm on Tuesday afternoon EMER-G-MED’s RV3, M03 and A03 as well as other services responded to reports of a serious collision on the corners of Malibongwe and President Fouche, in Sharon Lea.
On arrival paramedics found that a Citi Golf had been T-boned by a taxi with massive force – leaving major damage and three people injured.
The passenger of the car was in a critical condition – sustaining serious head and facial trauma. Advanced Life Support interventions were performed to stabalize the critically injured man. He was placed on Life Support and rushed to a nearby hospital for specialist care.
The other two patients sustained minor to moderate injuries, and were transported to various facilities for further management.
JMPD were on-scene to investigate the exact events leading up to the collision, but it is believed that a faulty traffic light played a big role in causing the collision.
