Mallibongwe Drive crash leaves 4 injured
At 15h50 on Saturday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision along Mallibongwe Drive in Randburg. Exact detail to the cause of the crash is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the roadway littered with accident debris and the twisted frame of the car, the taxi had veered off the roadway and came to rest in the veldt. After triaging the injured it was found that a nineteen-year-old female had sustained critical injuries and was still trapped in the vehicle. Three other patients were found to have sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.
While the Fire services worked tirelessly extricating the injured with the Jaws of Life, medics worked hand in hand to stabilise the patients. The critically injured female was airlifted with the Netcare helicopter to a specialised facility while the other patients were transported by various ambulance services to nearby hospitals for the care that they required.
