Two vehicles collide along the R612 in Umzinto, KZN
At 15h10 on Wednesday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics received a call for a two-vehicle collision along the R 612 near the Umzinto prison. Exact detail to the crash is still speculative and will form part of the South African Police investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that both vehicles had overturned on impact. Their twisted frames came to rest in the sugar cane field. After the injured were triaged they found that a man sustained critical injuries while three others were in a serious condition, one of them was a four-year-old-child.
Medics stabilised the injured at the scene before they transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
