Man critical after crashing into wall, Fourways
A man, believed to be in his 50s, was left critically injured this evening when his light motor vehicle crashed into an office park wall on Cedar Road in Fourways, Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare, arrived on the scene and found the light motor vehicle lying upright in the parking lot of an office park.
Witnesses on scene stated that the driver had apparently been driving at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll and crash through the wall.
On inspection, paramedics found the patient lying trapped inside his vehicle in a critical condition. Rescue medics had to use specialised rescue equipment to free the man in an hour long operation.
Once freed, paramedics provided the man with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patient was stabilised and transported to Life Fourways for urgent treatment.
Local authorities will investigate this incident further.
