Four injured in Pietermaritzburg collision
Four people were injured this evening, including three children, after two light motor vehicles collided at the Pine and Market Road intersection in Pietermaritzburg CBD.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found only one light motor vehicle in the middle of the road.
On inspection, paramedics found that one woman and three children, one boy and two girls aged between 13 and 16, had been in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
Paramedics carefully extricated the patients from the vehicle and trated them for their injuries, which ranged from minor to moderate.
Once treated, all the patients were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The second vehicle apparently drove away after the collision.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
