Pretoria bike crash leaves man critically injured
At 14h49 on Sunday afternoon Netcare 911 paramedics received a call for a man that had fallen from a bike along Hornsneck , Hermanstad, Pretoria. Reports from the scene indicate that the man came off the bike and then fell thirty meters down a steep embankment.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and had to clamber down the embankment with all their equipment to stabilise the critically wounded man. While firefighters was setting up a rope rescue system paramedics immobilised the man into a stokes basket before the firemen hoisted them back up to the road level.
After the patient was loaded into an ambulance they transported him to a specialised hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic.
