One killed and eight injured in collision on P154 near Warburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal.
One person was killed and eight others were left injured after a collision that occurred on the P154 near Warburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal. The collision occurred late last night and involved only one vehicle. It is believed that the vehicle lost control and hit the storm drain which caused it to overturn.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that one person, the driver of the vehicle, had already succumb to his injuries and he was declared dead on scene. Two passengers were entrapped in the vehicle. ER24 with the assistance of the fire department extricated the patients using Jaws of Life equipment. Both sustained moderate injuries. Furthermore, there was three more patients, two of which were children, all with minor to moderate injuries. ER24 treated and transported two people to Edendale Hospital and Northdale Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other services on scene.
The cause of the incident remains unknown, local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
