Driver allegedly skipping red traffic light leads to collision in Benoni
On Saturday night EMER-G-MED’s RV5, M02, C07 and A12 responded to reports of a serious motor vehicle accident on the corner of Tom Jones and Woburn Avenue, Benoni.
On arrival paramedics found that a car had been T-boned by a bakkie, pushing the car off the road and into a pole – allegedly after the car skipped a red traffic light.
Both drivers sustained minor injuries, while four passengers sustained injuries ranging from moderate to more serious.
Two passengers from the car sustained injuries that required Advanced Life Support care.
The patients were treated on the scene before being transported to various nearby hospitals for further management.
