A man was left critical after he was hit by a light motor vehicle on the Hendrik Potgieter Road in Strubens Valley, west of Johannesburg.
Paramedics from the ER24 Jhb West branch arrived on the scene and found the man walking around on the scene. The light motor vehicle in question was parked also on the side of the road.
ER24 paramedics immediately assessed and treated the man for his injuries. Once treated, the patient was transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for further treatment.
On route to hospital, the patient’s condition deteriorated rapidly. Paramedics immediately initiated numerous advanced life support interventions in an effort to stabilise the patients vital signs.
The patient was handed over to the hospital staff in a critical yet stable condition.
The driver of the light motor vehicle was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
