Pedestrian killed on N1 near De Doorns
A pedestrian sustained fatal injuries on the N1 approximately five kilometers before De Doorns this evening.
Shortly before 8pm paramedics from ER24 and provincial traffic services arrived on the scene where they found the man with severe fatal injuries lying in the middle of the road. Sadly, there was nothing that they could do for him and he was declared dead on the scene.
The driver of the vehicle that collided with the pedestrian was assessed by medical personnel. He did not sustain any injuries.
The incident was handed over to local authorities to conduct an investigation.
