Newly appointed constables deployed for Safer Festive Season in Northern Cape
Northern Cape, Kimberley: The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Shivuri addressed newly graduated members of the SAPS during a parade which was held this morning at Kimberley SAPS parade ground.
The new constables were joined by members in the Frances Baard Cluster. The purpose was to sensitise the members about the deployments during the #SaferFestiveSeason #Back2Basics operational duties.
General Shivuri reminded them that the community of Frances Baard and Northern Cape in general have pinned their hopes to men and women in blue during the festive season. The Provincial Commissioner also emphasized that the focus of the operations must be on major routes to curb drunken driving and reckless driving which contributes to the unnecessary loss of innocent lives. Lieutenant General Shivuri concluded by saying that high density operations should be the order of the day in the province in order to ensure that members of the community and visitors are and feel safe. After the address, the Provincial Commissioner conducted media interviews with local and national media.
