Four people were left injured this morning, two of them critically, when a light motor vehicle crashed into to a concrete barrier on the M1 Highway near the St Andrews turn-off in Johannesburg.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the light motor vehicle against the barriers. The four occupants were found lying outside after they were pulled from the vehicle by other motorists.
Paramedics assessed the men and found that two had sustained critical injuries while the two other had sustained moderate injuries.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided the two critically injured with advanced life support interventions.
Once treated, the patients were transported to Johannesburg General Hospital and Busamed Modderfontein for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
