A twenty year old man has been lucky to escape serious injury after his vehicle over turned shortly before 11:00 this morning.
Crisis Medical Paramedics and Marshall Security were called to the scene on Fairways Road, after two light motor vehicles had collided on the south bound carriage way of the M4 Ruth First Highway, with one of the vehicles, a Hyundai i20, overturning and coming to a rest on its roof on Fairways Road.
The driver of the Hyundai, sustained moderate injuries. Intermediate Life Support Intervention was needed to stabilize him, before he was placed onto a specialized stretcher for suspected neck and spinal cord injury and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further definitive care.
The driver of the second vehicle involved did not suffer any injury and was assessed on scene.
The cause of the collision is unknown and will form subject of a South African Police Services investigation.
