A man has died in a fatal collision near Daspoort tunnel
At approximately 19h15 on Sunday night 01 October 2017, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a very serious collision on the Transoranje road (R55) near to the Daspoort tunnel.
Reports from the scene indicate that a motorcycle and a car collided approximately 1km from the tunnel. The incident and preceding events will form part of a police investigation.
A Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support paramedic attended to the male motorcyclist. Tragically the unidentified man sustained severe injuries and died at the scene. Documentation pertaining to his death was completed by Netcare 911 and handed over to authorities at the scene.
The Police and Fire Department were at the scene and the road was closed to traffic while the scene was investigated before being cleared.
