One injured in collision into embankment on the R102 between the Ottawa and Verulam intersection.
One person was injured following a motor vehicle accident on the north bound lane of the R102 in between the Ottawa and Verulam intersection this afternoon.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call from a member of public reporting the accident. Upon arrival a Hyundai i10 was found facing contra flow. The driver sustained moderate injuries. He was treated on scene by paramedics from a private ambulance service before being transported to hospital.
It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle misjudged the distance between himself and the vehicle in front of him. When the unknow vehicle suddenly braked the driver of the Hyundai i10 veered off the road and crashed into an embankment.
The passenger in the vehicle was not injured in the accident.
