Ngcwabe appointed as ATNS executive
Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) SOC Limited is proud to announce the appointment of Lulekwa Ngcwabe, as its new Human Resources (HR) Executive. She has over a decade’s senior management experience and joins ATNS from the City of Johannesburg’s Metrobus entity, where she was General Manager responsible for Corporate Services.
Prior to that, she was employed at Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) as Senior Executive Manager, Corporate Services. It was at RTIA where Ngcwabe showed her leadership acumen by being instrumental in setting up the Human Resources Management Division.
Ngcwabe has an impeccable career journey. She was appointed to senior HR management roles at Eskom, National Prosecuting Authority, Eastern Cape Parks Board and National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture.
ATNS has increasingly grown to become an employer of choice. The entity’s philosophy is to create shared accountability for development and learning for its employees, says interim ATNS CEO, Thomas Kgokolo. “The intention is to afford all staff opportunities to learn and develop, either within their immediate sphere or beyond the simplest daily job routine. This inevitably means that our company is depending on its employees to identify, create and make use of available opportunities to develop themselves beyond traditional work-based training, as retention of staff is key.” said Kgokolo, on the appointment of Nqcwabe and the wealth of experience she brings into the company.
Voted the Best Employer for two years in a row, ATNS is implementing a seven-year Employment Equity (EE) Plan, geared towards ensuring equal representation of employees (designated and non-designated) across all occupational levels. The EE plan involves the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of appropriate measures to redress imbalances of the past, created by discriminatory employment policies and practices.
“The face of our Executive Committee is changing. The appointment of experts and thought-leaders in leadership positions in this company, especially women, is no coincidence. It has become the norm” concludes Kgokolo.
Ngcwabe holds a Bachelor of Administration degree from Walter Sisulu University, a Masters’ in Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Doctoral Studies from the prestigious Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). She completed a range of courses including Strategic HR Leadership Programme (Stellenbosch University Business School), Programme in Business Leadership (UNISA School of Business Leadership) and the Global Executive Development Programme (GIBS). She currently serves as a member of the Corporate Committee of the Gauteng Gambling Board and previously chaired the HR Committee of RTIA.
