N1 in Pretoria to be closed 13 and 14 April 2019
The South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL) would like to notify you of the temporary closure of the N1 highway for the erection of a new Pedestrian Bridge at Erasmusrand/Waterkloof.
This work is being carried out to replace the previous structure that was damaged in January 2015 and demolished in May 2016.
The full road closure of the N1 is necessary for the erection of the bridge and to provide safety to the public as well as for the construction staff. The work will be carried out in two phases during the following times:
Northbound: Saturday 13 April 18h00 to Sunday 14 April 04h00; and
Southbound: Sunday 14 April 18h00 to Monday 15 April 04h00.
The public will be requested to avoid the route during these times. However, should travellers wish to use the route, traffic will be diverted from the N1/Rigel Avenue Interchange and the N1/R21 Flying Saucer Interchange via Solomon Mahlangu Drive and Rigel Avenue. Temporary direction signage will be erected along the detour routes
