Three suspects arrested for the possession of a stolen vehicle in Mfuleni
WESTERN CAPE – In the ongoing fight against crime in the Mfuleni policing precinct, vigilant members from Mfuleni police station arrested three suspects yesterday, 17 July 2019 at about 12:00, on Nooiensfontein Road, Mfuleni.
According to reports received earlier that morning, at about 00:30, three male suspects forcefully entered the victim’s house in Ntutyana Street in Khayelitsha, while he was asleep. They threatened him to hand over his wallet containing cash, and the keys of his black VW Polo. The suspects then took his television set, laptop, new takkies, and cellular telephone, and fled the scene with his vehicle. A house robbery case docket was opened at Lingulethu-West police station in Khayelitsha for investigation purposes.
At around 12:00, SAPS members from Mfuleni who were on patrol duties, spotted a suspicious vehicle with three suspects in Nooiensfontein Road, Mfuleni. On further investigation they established that the vehicle was stolen during a house robbery in Khayelitsha earlier this morning. After searching the vehicle, they found some of the stolen items inside the vehicle, as well as a black 9mm imitation firearm. The suspects aged 22, 26 and 29 was arrested for possession of presumably stolen property and will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s once charged.
