Seven arrested for public violence in Warrenton
NORTHERN CAPE – Seven suspects were arrested in connection with public violence in Warrenton today. Their arrest is a sequel of blockading the N12 next to Warrenton in protest of service delivery in the area. Burning tyres and stones were used to barricade the road.
Motorists passing through Warrenton are advised to exercise extra caution as vehicles are pitted with stones.
Members of the Public Order Police are in the area to bring the situation under control.
Protesters are urged not to resort to violence but rather resolve their concerns with relevant authorities amicably.
