Man killed in head on collision on R57
One person was killed and another was left with minor injuries when a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided head on with each other on the R57 (Sasolburg Road) direction Heilbron.
Paramedics that arrived on the scene shortly after 10.30pm found the driver of the light motor vehicle still behind the steering wheel of his vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing that paramedics could do for him. The driver of the taxi was already removed from the scene by provincial emergency services. It is understood that he sustained only minor injuries.
Bystanders explained that the taxi had no passengers at the time of the collision.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the incident.
