A woman was killed this morning when she was struck by a motor vehicle on the R57 in Abrahamsrust towards Vanderbijlpark.
Shortly before 8 am paramedics arrived on the scene where they found a car on the middle island of the road. It had severe damage to its windshield. A woman was found lying a few meters away from the vehicle. Upon further assessment, paramedics found that the woman sustained multiple fatal injuries. Sadly, there was nothing that they could do for her and she was declared dead at the scene.
A young couple in the vehicle was assessed on the scene. They sustained no physical injuries and were only in shock.
The exact cause of the collision will be investigated by the local authorities that attended the scene.
