April 17, 2016 • Accidents, Car

Seven people were injured this morning after a light motor vehicle crashed into a stationary vehicle on the M5 near Rondebosch in the Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on scene to find both light motor vehicles sitting on the side of the road. Both vehicles had sustained a large amount of damage in the collision.

On inspection, paramedics found six patients sitting outside the vehicle while one man lay inside the vehicle in a critical condition.

Paramedics carefully extricated the patient from the vehicle and immediately treated all the patients. Advanced life support interventions were performed on the critically injured patient.

All the patients were treated and thereafter transported to Groote Schuur and New Somerset Hospital for further treatment.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
