Fatal pedestrian collision on the R59 between Blockhouse and Rand Vaal
Friday night EMER-G-MED’s RV8 Advanced Life Support Response Vehicle attended to the scene of a fatal pedestrian vehicle collision on the R59 between Blockhouse and Rand Vaal, south of Johannesburg.
It’s reported that the vehicle was travelling northbound when it collided with the pedestrian, who was apparently walking in the fast lane. Sadly the pedestrian sustained horrific fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene. The occupants of the car were uninjured
The highway was closed off for over an hour while local SAPS, Midvaal fire department and forensic services staff cleared the scene.
