Men ejected, lucky to escape burning vehicle
Two men who were ejected from the vehicle they were travelling in are lucky to have escaped serious injury after the vehicle rolled into a veld and caught alight.
The driver lost control of the vehicle on the Warden Bethlehem road earlier this afternoon.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the men, one believed to be in his 30’s and the other believed to be in his 40s, lying on the side of the road. The vehicle was several metres away lying on its side in the veld. Fire and Rescue Services were on scene to extinguish the fire.
Upon assessment of the patients it was found that they sustained moderate injuries.
They were treated and transported to two local hospitals for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
